To all of our customers,
Nobody knows what the next few months may bring especially as things appear to be changing on a moment by moment basis with this onset of the Coronavirus, but we have made the following decision that we at Chelmer Village Opticians, are doing the best we can to take care of our customers and staff.
We have decided to close the practice to the public to limit the spread of the virus. There is currently no significant guidance from our governing bodies and the General Optical Council, but after taking advice from health care professionals, this seems to be the right decision.
Although we have been taking many measures with regard to deep cleaning the practice, we do not feel comfortable with putting our staff and customers at risk. Hopefully, together we can help to prevent infection from spreading especially to vulnerable members of our community.
Our service will now be restricted to telephone and emails in order to protect our incredible team of staff. Please contact us if you have any sight or eye health-related questions or concerns at hello@chelmervillageopticians.co.uk or call on 01245 461 843 and one of our qualified team will get back in touch with you as soon as we can.
We will be calling all our patients that have glasses or contact lenses to discuss the best way to arrange their delivery or collection. The governing bodies have indicated that some leniency will be allowed in the supply of contact lenses and spectacles even if appointments are overdue, so please contact us if you require additional supplies and we are happy to help to arrange this while the suppliers are still able to deliver, often directly to your home address.
If you have an appointment with us, one of our staff members will be in contact to book you in for a later date.
By taking these steps now, we are confident that whatever the future brings, we will be able to continue to provide the high standard of service you have always received. All our staff will remain employed throughout this crisis and we look forward to welcoming you back into our practice in better times.
Please stay safe and well and follow all the guidelines to help safeguard those around you.
With our best wishes
Ray & Vik
